Our early childhood music and movement curriculum is based off the WeJoySing Heart Strings Classes of Jo Kirk, which was established using:
- Music Education Philosophy of Zoltán Kodály
- Early Childhood Music Learning Theory of Edwin Gordon
- Early Childhood Learning Theories of Jean Piaget and Howard Gardner
- Research in early childhood skills and brain development
Every class utilizes the same basic structure, setting your child up for success as they learn and anticipate what comes next. Our interactive classes are fast-paced and high energy to keep little ones engaged, and learning happens through PLAY!
IN PERSON CLASSES
Our 30 minute in-person classes around the Columbus, Ohio area offer 3 different class levels with developmentally appropriate activities. Click the level names below to learn more!
For our youngest musicians, best suited for around 1-24 month age. Babies and toddlers play and learn new songs and movements with a caregiver’s assistance.
For our older toddlers and preschoolers, best suited for children between about 2 and 6 years old. They gain more independence while we explore early musical concepts as we sing, dance, play instruments, read books, and learn together!
Family Classes
Structured much like our virtual video classes, multi-age family classes are perfect for families with more than one child and will include activities from Level 1 and Level 2. Each individual class will vary based upon the ages of the children, but will always include activities that every child is able to do together with their families.
Virtual Video Multi-Age Family Classes
If you aren’t able to attend an in-person class, why not try out a virtual class? Each interactive virtual video is approximately 30-40 minutes long accessible via a password-protected link to Vimeo, emailed directly to your inbox. No extra app is needed, only a reliable internet connection. You can watch at your convenience, as many times as you’d like – even pause, rewind, fast forward, or stop and come back later! Each video lists all the activity names with clickable time code links that take you right to that part of the video.
Group Classes and Special Events
Mindful Music & Movement classes are perfect for a little something extra in child care centers, Montessori schools, preschools, and other group settings!
